Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Birth Anniversary Celebrated at Jai Dharti Maa Foundation

Today, 1 November 2025 (Saturday), on the second day of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Jayanti Fortnight, a program was organized at the central office of Jai Dharti Maa Foundation, Dharjori, Dhanbad. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Ravi Raj Sharma, Municipal Commissioner of Dhanbad, who offered floral tributes and lit the ceremonial lamp before the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

In his address, he said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, whom we know as the Iron Man of India, was the true symbol of unity in diversity. It was due to his relentless efforts that all princely states of India were integrated into the Indian Union after independence.

He added that Patel’s life was the ultimate example of simplicity. By nature, he lived like a saint. Even after becoming the first Deputy Prime Minister of independent India, he never accepted a government bungalow for himself. Guests visiting his home were served simple tea and biscuits. After the death of his wife, he never remarried and raised his children with simplicity. His daughter Maniben washed his clothes and cooked food for him. Even when Patel fell ill, he avoided spending money on medicines and instead adopted natural remedies — such was the simplicity of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. We must learn from his life and dedicate ourselves to the service of the nation.
